We were approached by JC White Geomatics to assist with a survey of the Blaise Farm Quarry. The site is busy with heavy machinery operating on a constant basis. Using conventional surveying methods and walking across the site for long periods of time would have posed Health & Safety risks and been more time consuming.
The first job was to have several ground control point markers laid down which could be identified from the air. These markers were later used to rectify the data.
We flew over the quarry from an offset position so that work on the ground could continue and the level of risk was minimized. After a quality control check of the flight data we left the site in order to start the post processing procedure.
