DUNGENESS VEGETATION MAPPING
ATEC-3D are an approved affiliate of Freedom Group, one of the largest infrastructure companies in the UK. Dungeness Power Station in Kent is one sites they manage in over the last 5 years; ATEC-3D have been employed to help with the environmental management of Dungeness Power Station Estate, and their management of Marsh Willow using our fleet of drones.
AIMS & TARGETS
In 2015 ATEC-3D conducted an Aerial Survey of the Estate and provided an Orthophoto-mosaic to the property management company to determine the coverage of Marsh Willow on the estate and create an accurate base map, digital surface model and digital terrain model to manage the estate more efficiently.
ROMNEY MARSH WILLOW
Marsh Willow strangles the life out of other plants, and in an area of massive biodiversity with many species only being found on the estate and nowhere else in the world. It is essential that the Client protect these species.
HOW THE DATA IS USED
5 years later in 2020, ATEC-3D are invited back for a comparative study, the creation of a second base map, digital surface model and digital terrain model and compare that to the original 2015 study. Using ATEC-3D software we were able to show the work done by our client to manage the land effectively, with a significant difference being seen in each Orthophoto-mosaic. With this data our client can now plan their next segment of land management and manage their infrastructure more effectively.
