ASH DIE BACK MONITORING

ATEC-3D Environmental monitoring is one of our most specialised fields in aerial surveying, with our managing director having a BSc (Hons) in Environment and Compliance. You can say it is what our company was founded to do. For the last 7 years ATEC-3D have been monitoring the spread of a Ash Dieback through Brockhill Park Country Park.

AIMS & TARGETS

Above you can see two photos from separate years, showing the decreased density of the canopy, demonstrating where Ash Trees have been killed by this invasive fungus. It also shows areas that trees have been felled to stop the spread. ATEC-3D use the Orthophoto-mosaic method to demonstrate this, having created multiple over several years, we can overlay each Orthophoto-mosaic onto each other and demonstrate the severity in which this disease is ravaging the park.

OBSTACLES AND CHALLENGES

ATEC-3D conduct our Aerial Surveys of the Brockhill Country Park every 3 months. This is in order to keep the most up to date data as possible, giving our client the ability to track the spread of this disease and plan ahead for tree felling and looking at other areas of risk.
